Fading Hearts pattern

With pride I present my Fading Hearts

My mother died of Alzheimer’s and I was so sad to see my mother fading away due to this disease. It is a mean disease; it steals your loved one slowly.

My thanks goes to my testers Caroline Tigchelaar (overlay mosaic crochet) and Annuska Kauffmann (interlocking filet crochet)

Both techniques come with small charts, written pattern abbreviated and non abbreviated, tutorials and links to examples and video’s. There is also a printable large X chart for overlay mosaic and the border.

Yarn overlay mosaic crochet:

Dark pattern colour (all A rows): 1800 m, 1980 y

Light background colour (all B rows) 2400 m, 2640 y

Hook 4mm, G/6, yarn DK

163 stitches by 215 rows

Size 140 by 107 cm, 55 by 42 inches

Please note that the amount of yarn leans heavily on tension, hook and yarn thickness.

(in picture crocheted by Caroline used yarn: Stylecraft Special DK White 8x and Claret 6x)

Yarn Interlocking filet Crochet:

Approximately based on hook size 4mm G/6

Dark pattern colour (all A rows): 1300 m, 1450 y, add 200 m, 225 y if you want to add the border

Light background colour (all B rows) 1600 m, 1750 y, add 300 m, 335 y if you want to add the border

Hook 4mm, G/6

81 by 106 windows

Size approximately 88 by 121 cm, 35 by 48 inch, without border

Please note that the amount of yarn leans heavily on tension, hook and yarn thickness.
