Southwestern Spirit Poncho

Southwestern Spirit Poncho

Thank you for your interest in my latest wearable! I’m so excited to release this pattern, it was a challenge but I’m so happy how it turned out.

Overlay mosaic crochet in English only using US terminology.

Southwestern poncho is created in 3 parts, the main body, the neck border and the hood. You’ll get a detailed description of how to create it.
The Main body of the poncho is done horizontally, I love the fact that you can use different colours and when worn they’ll be vertical, my testers have done this beautifully! when you reach the neck, you’ll be cutting the yarn and joining again to create a hole.

What you’ll get;
Fully written pattern.
Pictorial explanation.
Individual charts with X’s and grid lines every 10/10 rows.
Full chart with X’s and grid lines every 10/10 rows.

What you’ll need;

2 contrasting colours of yarn.
DK yarn is recommended for this pattern. If you use Aran/worsted yarn your project will be bigger, if you want a larger poncho that’s fine but I recommend using a smaller hook than the yarn suggests, like a 4.5mm.
A 3.5mm hook for the main body pattern and neck.
A 4.5mm hook for the hood. even with DK yarn, the hood pattern will explain.
A tapestry needle for the invisible joins.
Measuring tape.

I used DK yarn with a 3.5mm hook. As the pattern is created horizontally, I didn’t want my stitches to be loose or sag when worn. The measurements are approximate, don’t worry if yours is a little larger or smaller.

Hook and Flow

Welcome!

I create overlay mosaic crochet patterns, I love how creative I can be with just single and double crochet stitches.

I create simple to more complex patterns such as center out techniques, there’s pictorial help and video links in the downloads.

You might notice that all of my patterns have the words spirit or flow in the names, this is my dedication to my late father who was a drummer in a number of bands in the 80’s called “With the Flow” and “Kindled Spirit” and I chose to put those words into my pattern names.

Thank you for your support!
