Thank you for your interest in my latest pattern Southwestern Spirit Throw. After creating my Southwestern poncho pattern, I was asked to create a blanket, so here it is!
A row-by-row overlay mosaic crochet pattern that you can create with any thickness yarn, it can be used for walks in the woods or a throw for your bed.
The pattern is 307 stitches by 243 rows and the charts come in separate PDF’s so please check your library.
What you’ll get;
A fully written pattern in US terms.
Individual charts with grid lines every 10/10 squares that when printed will fit together.
A full chart of the whole pattern.
Links to basic videos of overlay mosaic crochet and the envelope border.
What you’ll need;
DK or 4ply yarn is recommended for this pattern, 2 contrasting colours. If you use Aran/worsted yarn your project will be bigger, if you want a larger throw that’s fine but I recommend using a smaller hook than the yarn suggests, like a 4.5mm.
My testers yarn usage is below, here’s approximate requirements.
I couldn’t distinguish the amount of background and detailed colours that my testers used so here’s the total approximate
Aran/Worsted yarn, 4.5/5mm hook, yarn 4,535m size 148/180cm.
Double Knit DK yarn, 4mm hook, yarn 4,300m, size 138/200cm.
4PLY yarn, 3.5mm hook, yarn 4,185m, size 120/150cm.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO MY INCREDIBLE TESTERS! Barbara Glueck, Anja Timmerman, Edie Snyder and Pauline Billingham.

Total Weight, 2.800g, total usage 4,535m (4.960 yds). Hook size 4.5mm and measures 148cm x 180cm (without fringes).

Hobbii We Love Yarn Mega Ball in Lilac, 1,488m/496g, and Yarnsmiths Create DK in Petal Pink, 96m/33g. Her gorgeous blanket measures 200/138cm

Welcome!
I create overlay mosaic crochet patterns, I love how creative I can be with just single and double crochet stitches.
I create simple to more complex patterns such as center out techniques, there’s pictorial help and video links in the downloads.
You might notice that all of my patterns have the words spirit or flow in the names, this is my dedication to my late father who was a drummer in a number of bands in the 80’s called “With the Flow” and “Kindled Spirit” and I chose to put those words into my pattern names.
Thank you for your support!
